In 2011 People’s Kitchen purchased a large blue school bus from a local activist. We will raise funds to turn that bus into a veggie-oil powered, high-tech, sustainable food distribution vehicle and teaching kitchen. Local artists will be hired to paint food justice inspired murals covering the bus. It will be used to procure local foods, distribute those foods among our network of community kitchens and organizations, and to take our programs on the road to other communities who invite us to share with them.

A mechanic who knows alternative vehicle systems will be hired as a consultant. We will support a local producer of biodiesel.
